Pulled Pork Hawaiian Sliders

These BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders are sweet, smoky, and just the right amount of spicy. Built on Sola Sweet Hawaiian rolls, they’re filled with tender pulled pork tossed in sugar-free BBQ sauce, then topped with a crisp veggie mix of red cabbage, pickled red onions, jalapeños, and fresh cilantro. This fresh slaw is a bright, tangy upgrade from the usual mayo-based version.

Ingredients

  • 12 Sola Sweet Hawaiian rolls
  • 2 cups of store-bought pulled pork without sauce (or your own homemade recipe!)
  • ½ cup sugar free barbecue sauce, I used G-Hughs Smokehouse brand

For the Veggie Topping

  • 1 Cup shredded red cabbage
  • ½ Cup pickled red onions, drained
  • 1 Handful of fresh cilantro, roughly chopped
  • 2 Fresh jalapeno peppers, sliced
  • 1 Tablespoon light olive oil
  • 1 Teaspoon red or white wine vinegar
  • ½ Teaspoon salt
  • ½ Teaspoon pepper

Directions

  1. Cut the Sola Sweet Hawaiian rolls horizontally, lay the bottoms in a baking dish.

  2. Heat the pulled pork in the microwave for a minute or so to loosen it up. Place the warmed pulled pork into a bowl and shred again using your fingers, go through the pork to ensure there are no bits of gristle.

  3. Place the pulled pork and barbecue sauce in a saucepan and place on a low heat to warm through until piping hot.

  4. While the pulled pork is warming up, make the topping by mixing all the ingredients together in a bowl.

  5. To assemble the sliders, spread the pulled pork over the bottom part of the rolls and top with the freshly mixed topping. Place the tops back on the rolls and cut through the sandwiches between each roll to separate. Brush with melted butter for an extra special touch.

  6. These rolls can be messy to pick up and eat, so I’d recommend inserting a skewer into each of the rolls before serving.
